Introduction
Bald Eagles are a species of birds of prey. They are found in North America. Bald Eagles became nearly extinct. They were added to the endangered species list. While on this list they were able to flourish. Bald Eagles were removed from the endangered species list in 2007.
The bald eagle is a national symbol for the United States.
As a group of 2, you will investigate the Bald Eagle by looking at characteristics. While investigating, you will evaluate how the different body parts and attributes help the Bald Eagle to survive in the wild. While digging in, you will also learn more about what makes the birds of prey so spectacular. You will answer the questions, what do Bald Eagles need in order to survive and thrive in the environment? What is the human role in their survival?
Task
Use online resources to record facts about Bald Eagles. Create an informative tri-fold detailing the Bald Eagle. Include characteristics, habitat, food, and other important facts. Include a drawing or printed picture of a Bald Eagle. You will answer the questions, what do Bald Eagles need in order to survive and thrive in the environment? What is the human role in their survival? You will share your tri-fold with the class. They will later be displayed in the Media Center.
One person will concentrate on looking for important information about the Bald Eagle and what they eat. One person will specifically search for information about their habitat and environment. Together you will find other important information and decide if you can create a drawing or find a picture online that will fit your project.
