Introduction
This lesson is on plants, how they work, the structures of the plant and their functions. I hope the students are excited to learn about plants.
Task
Parts of a Plant
1) Recognize the structures of the plant. Roots, stems, leaves, flowers, fruit and describe the function of those parts. For example: What do roots do ?
2) Describe and explain at least one structure and what it does.
3) Draw you own diagram of the life cycle of a plant
4) At the end of the lesson we will plant seeds in cups and let them grow so the students can see first hand the development of a plant.

Conclusion
I hope you all have enjoyed learning all about plants. I can not wait to see the plants you have grown flourish after being planted outside. Hopefully this lesson has taught you so much more about plants and how they help us in our lives every day.

My name is Chelseyann Newsome and this lesson is to help get students excited about plants, their structures and functions. Plants do so much for us and most students do not realize it !
