Introduction
Welcome Group 2! You have been sent to to investigate the lives and experiences of the families and children at the time of the First Fleet. Some of these families were of high class backgrounds. Others were poor beggars sailing to new life. It will be your job to explore both these classes and find out what life was like for the families who travelled aboard the first fleet!!! Let's take a look.
Sincerely,
Robert Smith of the First Fleet

Task
Your task...to become experts of the families onboard the First Fleet! Each one of you will have to use your investigative skills and work as a team to succeed. Report this important information back to your original groups once you have found 5 key facts on what life was like for families at that time. Be warned however...it wasn't always pretty.
Sincerely,
Officer Robert Smith of the First Fleet

Process
Important files for research: I have provided your group with carefully selected documents straight from Captain Arthur Phillip himself!! Use your critical skills to analyse and pick out only the most important information! Remember the skills your wise teacher has taught you and you can only succeed. We're here to write my people's story after all. Let's make it a good one!!!
Sincerely
Robert Smith of the First Fleet

Evaluation
Well done on gathering your information! Did each of you help find a key fact? Does it tell the conditions for children and families of the time? If so, return to your original group and present your expert knowledge!
