Introduction
Form Two students will visit Great Zimbabwe for their History lesson.

Great Zimbabwe is an ancient city in the south-eastern hills of Zimbabwe near lake Mutirikwi and the town of Masvingo. It was part of a wealthy African trading empire that controlled much of the East African coast from the 11th to 15th centuries C.E. The city is known for its large circular wall and tower. It is the largest stone complex in Africa built before the modern era.
Task
The students will go to Great Zimbabwe to learn the history thereof. Great Zimbabwe will offer a cultural experience of the ancient kingdom, and they will learn about the lifestyle and appreciate the geographical setting of its land.
The students will then write a summary of the history and lessons learned. A journalistic account to be crafted.
The work must be original and creative expressed in the student's ability to process and transform the information gathered at Great Zimbabwe.
Process
The entire Form Two Class will visit Great Zimbabwe and will tour the ruins and the entire city as a group.
The class will then be divided into groups of five. The groups will have time to share their experience and record it.
Individuals will then have to do their summaries and write a report detailing their experiences and lessons learned.
Students are recommended to use video clips, and pictures obtained during the tour of Great Zimbabwe to back up their written reports.

Students love history and site seeing, therefore this is a great experience. When students are participating, seeing real-life situations, and working in groups, accountability is inevitable and they succeed individually.
