What Are The Parts Of A Seed?

Introduction

Everyday we see plants everywhere we go but do we know how they got there?

Today we will be going on a quest to learn what’s inside of seeds. Your goal today will be to report to me your findings on the inside of seeds and how they grow into plants. We will be visiting several websites to find out any facts we can about seeds and their insides.

Task

At the end of today’s quest you’ll be able to answer the question “What are the parts of a seed?”

During this web quest, you will learn all there is to know about a seed.

After your web quest, you will recreate a labeled diagram of the inside of a seed along with your favorite plant that grows from a seed. You will then share with the class your labeled diagram and your favorite plant.

Process

Quest #1: Have your quest log ready to gather information.

Quest #4: Create your labeled diagram with the help of your quest log.

  1. Fold your construction paper in half.
  2. On one half of your paper draw a seed with every piece of it labeled correctly.
  3. On the other half of your paper draw a picture of your favorite plant that comes from seeds.
  4. Decorate your seed and plant however you would like.
