Fossils WebQuest- 3rd grade

Introduction

Have you ever wondered what the past looked like? Scientists look at fossils to reveal information about the past. Today we are going to learn more about fossils. As you work through this web quest, you will complete a graphic organizer. 

Task

With your shoulder partner, you will take turns reading through a website and watching a video to gather information on fossils. With this information, you are going to fill out a graphic organizer.

Here is the graphic organizer. Before filling it out, be sure to make a copy of it. To add to the graphic organizer, click the sticky note icon. Partner A will record their notes with pink sticky notes and Partner B will record their notes with green sticky notes.

Fossils have helped scientist learn about different life forms that have come and gone. The shapes of teeth help scientist determine what that organism ate. Footprints are also a big factor because they can tell a scientist how heavy an animal was.
