The Presidents

Introduction

A lot of people have become president of the United States as it becomes an older country. Still it is good to know all of them each of them creating different and unique environments throughout history. While some of them could definitely be considered worse than others it all becomes apart of our history. The goal is to be able to talk about one president in depth and share it with the class.

Task

You will pick a president and then do a research assignment on them. Once you are done you will actually do an in class presentation and tell everybody what you have learned about that president.

Process

For today we are just going to start the research process. I want you to have:

1. I want you to find important dates like when they were inaugurated, born, and if applicable when they died.

2. Find out what their childhood was like read things like memoirs or autobiographies.

3. Find out what they did in office the top 5 most important things that you can find.

Evaluation

                              1 point                                                 2 point                                                       3 point

Dates found poorly states what dates are of importance to this president or doesn't at all. States some of the dates that are important but fails to mention their reason and relation to the president. Explains why all of the dates are used and why it is important to the president they are talking about.
Childhood Gives very little detail about the presidents childhood. Talks in depth about the presidents childhood but fails to talk about how that might have shaped them specifically in office Talks about the president in office and how exactly they were shaped through out childhood and what those experiences might have been like.
In office Gives 2 important facts about what they did in office Gives 3 or 4 facts about what they did in office Gives 5 good facts about what they did in office.

Conclusion

After this lesson plan I hope that all of the students in this classroom have a much better understanding about what they should talk about with the president they selected.
