Introduction
Teaching Students with Learning Disabilities
By Donetto Heckathorn
We as educators are given the task of providing all students with a proper and fair education. With that said it's important to know that not every student is the same, each one has their own strengths and weaknesses, and it would be wrong of us as teachers to gloss over this fact. We have to accommodate all students and adapt to their learning styles and not have students adjust to our teachings. In this WebQuest we will cover what we as educators need to do to aid students with learning disabilities.

Task
You will be doing research on some of the many tools and programs for students with learning disabilities and special needs. Provided will be some sources, but you will still need to do research either with your own sources or with the ones provided.
Four sources in APA format:
Gargiulo, R. M. (2021). Special education in contemporary society: An introduction to exceptionality (7th ed.). SAGE.
Paz, Z. (2020, May 13). Assistive technology tools for students with learning disability. LDRFA. Retrieved March 20, 2022, from https://www.ldrfa.org/top-assistive-technology-tools-and-apps-for-bette…
Strategies for teaching children with learning disabilities. LDRFA. (2021, December 20). Retrieved March 20, 2022, from https://www.ldrfa.org/strategies-for-teaching-children-with-learning-di…
Tjentz. (2021, December 6). The 15 best websites for parents of special needs children: Special education degrees. Special Education Degrees | Your Guide To A Career In Special Education. Retrieved March 20, 2022, from https://www.special-education-degree.net/the-best-websites-for-parents-…
Process
This will take at least two days to complete, students will look into the different methods and technologies used to aid students with special needs. Students will need to go in depth about 3 methods, technologies or sources teachers can use to better work with and understand students with learning disabilities. The teacher will also have to provide at least one example to the class so they have a better idea of what to work on.
Evaluation
Students may use any form of presentation, from power points, to simple papers or even something like this webquest, student have freedom to use whichever to express they have learned from their research Your project must have the following to receive full credit:
3 methods, technology resources and/or aspects of teaching students with disabilities, 20 points
An introductory and conclusion paragraph as well as a paragraph for each of the respective three subjects, (at least 5 paragraphs in total,) 20 points
3 Sources on the 3 chosen topics, 20 points
Proper APA formatting for said sources, 20 points
No more than 5 grammar/spelling errors, 20 points
Conclusion
In closing, you have hopefully learned more about students with learning disabilities and how to better aid them in the classroom. As stated every student has their own methods of learning and faces their own unique challenges and they can't be left behind because of it. One thing that is often overlooked in education today is that education has to be built around the learner, not the instructor, if it focuses on the later, the student will have a harder time learning and growing and possibly failing. You have done some research into a very broad topic and can at the lest understand the complexity and importance of teaching students with learning disabilities.

Teacher Page
As a teacher you should already have a basic understanding of teaching students with learning disabilities and how your teachings need to tailor to them. This assignment will aim to spread some of this knowledge to your students and hopefully give you at least the opportunity to get a review on the subject or even learn something new. As the one who will be leading the class in this assignment, you have to provide one example of a method technology or aspect of teaching students with these special needs.
