Introduction

We are all going to go to an amusement park here pretty soon! While we are there, we are going to be riding rollercoasters! You are going to be learning about kinetic energy in class the week before we go. After we have become experts in kinetic energy, you will be creating your own rollercoaster!

Task

With your partner, you are going to learn more about kinetic energy! While you and your partner read, you will use the graphic organizer to get your thoughts together. Take turns reading and make sure you are paying attention to what your partner is saying. After you are finished, you will go to battle to answer some questions to test your knowledge!

Now that you have completed that, I am going to give you a bag with manipulatives in it. You are going to be creating your own rollercoasters with the supplies I have given you. You are going to have the rest of the time in class, and I will give you some time tomorrow. After that, we will be observing everyone's rollercoasters, and observing their kinetic energy.
