History of Martial Arts

Introduction

Imagine you are on a quest, you desire to become the best martial artist in the entire world. But there's a a catch, you don't know any martial arts or even the history of martial arts to begin your quest to becoming the best. So what do you do ? You set on a journey to bring forth your desire to become the best. With this particularly assignment, this is what you'll be doing for classwork and homework.

Task

You are tasked with researching as many forms of martial arts as you can to become the best.  By the time you are finished with this task, not only will you have the knowledge of the history of martial arts on your side, you will also know what martial arts you need to know in order to become the best.

Process

Students will use Google search engine to research the history of martial arts and the different categories of martial arts. Additionally, students can use either the school library or public library for additional research, a lot of libraries have books and magazines about martial arts.

 

Questions to start researching with: What are the best martial arts to train in ? What are the worst martial arts to train in ? What are the most costly martial arts to train in ? What are the cheapest martial arts to train in ? What are martial arts ? 

Evaluation

 

Scoring: 1 - Needs improvement. Work does not meet the requirements of the task at hand. 

 

Scoring: 2 - Shows knowledge of task. Work reflects the requirements necessary of the task at hand. 

 

Scoring: 3 - Excellent work. Immediately engaging input of research information. Work reflects the requirements necessary of the task at hand very effectively. 

Conclusion

Students have learned about the history of martial arts, origins and reasoning of each martial art. Addtionally, if interested, students' have chosen specific martial arts to study for individual training.
