Task

We are going on an adventure to explore healthy eating. Explore this WebQuest to learn more about healthy food.

Our activities include watching videos and reading articles from websites. Then we will answer questions. After completing all the activities in pairs, you will prepare on your own an oral presentation (around 3 to 4 minutes) with slides.

1.) Discuss and answer these questions with your partner.

a.) How often do you exercise? How many times in a week or a month?

b.)  What’s your favourite sport? 

c.) How often do you play it? How many times in a week or a month?

d.) What parts of the body are involved in that sport?

e.) What sport would you like to practice in the future?

f.) Do you drink enough water? How many glasses of water do you drink in a day?

g.) How often do you eat fruits and vegetables? How many times in a day or a week?

2.) Have a look at the web "Easy Science for Kids" then type two lists of HEALTHY FOOD and UNHEALTHY FOOD in the Google Document in HEALTHY and UNHEALTHY FOOD Google Classroom post.

3.) Watch What School Lunch Looks Like Around The World.

Next, type your answers to the questions below in Google Document above. Then discuss with your partner.

h.) Which of these school lunches would you want to try? Why?

i.)  Would you want to cook and serve your classmates lunch every week like they do in Japan? Why or why not?

p.) Plan your food for your breakfast, lunch and dinner.

    Draw a plate with sections like those you learned from MyPlate.org. Draw pictures of food to show the proper portions of each type of food you should have at each meal. You can draw using drawing blocks and draw or paste pictures of food or use slides for your plates of food. 

     Label each section and write down why you chose the foods and what makes these foods healthy choices? 

     You will present your poster or slides to the class.
