We are beginning a book club unit over three different books. In all three novels, there are many references to historical events related to Civil Rights issues. In this webquest you, will research some of the events and create a Google Slide Presentation on one of these historical happenings.
Task
Final Product
Understanding the importance of specific historical events and important people during the Civil Rights movement will increase your understanding of your novels.
For the Web Quest, you will be researching three important events featuring Civil Rights that are discussed in your novels.. During your research, you will fill out a research summary sheet over each topic to help you consolidate your research. You will pick one topic to focus on and create a presentation over it using Google Slides. You can use the videos and links in the Web Quest to help you find pictures and create summaries that you will use for your Google slides. Your presentation will need to include the following slides:
- Introduction slide with title and your name
- Summary slide for the topic of your choice that includes summary of event (5-7 sentences), picture (with caption) from the event (3 total slides) Your summary should include why this event was important in the Civil Rights movement.
- List of sources (videos and/or website used)
