Introduction

Can all animals live and survive in the same environment!? Today we will find out the answer to that question and explore different animals and the environments that they live in. 

2nd Grade/ 35-40 minutes 

 

Task
  1. The purpose of this lesson is to have students understand that organisms resemble their parents and have structures and processes that help them survive within their environment 
  2. TSW observe, record, and compare how the physical characteristics and behaviors of animals help them meet their basic needs. 
  3. TSW watch a video about animals and their physical characteristics and behaviors. TSW be given a task of being an animal and picking which structures and behaviors they would need to survive in this environment that is given to them.
  4. By the end of this lesson you will understand how different animals can survive in only certain environments and how different animals are made to live in different environments.

How to identify the structures and processes that help animals survive within their environments. 

TSW be engaging in an activity that will have them engage in questions and see a video about different animals and their environments.

Conclusion

By the end of this lesson you should know how different animals can survive in different environments. How just because one animal lives in a certain environment does not mean that another animal can survive in it.
