PETER THE PIG GOES TO THE MARKET
Description: This will allow students to expand their mathematical thinking of money into fun, creativity, and learning. Students will take part in many shopping adventures to engage their previous knowledge as well as develop new ones. They will use their knowledge of coin recognition, the price amount of coins, and the addition of coins.
Grade: 1st

Task
Today we will set off on adventures with our new friend, Peter the Pig! Peter will teach us how to count, save, and spend our money while shopping. Peter the Pig will give you directions throughout the activity, please read and act appropriately.
Players who complete their activity well will be rewarded with a trip to the virtual store to buy accessories within budget and dress up Peter Pig in fun scenes!

1. Students will watch Peter the Pig introduction video.
2. Students will then review the "How to Play"

3. Students will begin with coin counting skills at a chance to earn virtual money to later spend on dressing up Peter the Pig
4. Students will choose their appropriate level of difficulty (based on previous assessment)
- Advanced students may add the bonus to their difficulty level at this time
5. Allow students to take part in their adventure with Peter the Pig!
