Introduction
First impressions are so important. In order to make the best first impression on your readers, you will need a strong introduction. In this WebQuest, you will explore how to approach the introductory paragraph and thesis/position statement when writing persuasive texts. This will help you as you develop your final persuasive essay for the unit.
Task
This WebQuest will require you to review several sources related to the introduction and position statement in persuasive writing. As you review these sources, be sure to take notes on your "Parts of a Persuasive Essay" handout. Your notes can be as detailed as you would like, but be sure to at least list the major features that you should include in this portion of your essay. You may want to write down some of the examples the sources provide. This handout will give you a guide to refer back to as you work on your persuasive essay.
