1: With parental/adult supervision, you will reach into the pumpkin pulling every seed out. Be sure to wear gloves and have a bowl ready for the pumpkin seeds.
2: With the fresh pumpkin seeds being stuck in the sticky, slimy pumpkin goop, the seeds will need to be picked out one by one.
3: Once the seeds have be picked out one by one, they will need to be placed in a water-soap bath to be sure the seeds will be nice and clean.
4: After washing the seeds, lay them on a lay cookie sheet lined with paper towels to dry for 30 minutes.
5: Once the seeds are dry, place them in a small bowl and get ready to count!

With pumpkin seeds, students create groups of 10.
Items needed: small paper cups
What to do: The children will count 10 seeds. Once 10 seeds have been counted, they will be placed into a small cup and set aside for overall calculation that will be needed by an parent/ adult. Once all seeds have been counted and placed into small cups, the child can then count how many cups they have by counting to 10. The parent/adult will then calculate the overall total amount of pumpkin seeds.
Be sure to take a picture!

Attached is a printable worksheet. The child will take the pumpkin seeds and glue them according to the number of seeds on the pumpkin. Example: the pumpkin has two seeds. Two real seeds will be glued on top of the pumpkin. The student will count two the seeds and answer the question, "How many?". The answer would be two.
Take a picture of the finished product!
