Introduction
Watch this nine minute video of what life was like being a Royal in the castle.
Now Imagine :
You are a King/Queen in the Medieval Times. You rule an empire, but one of your personal spy relays a message to your door step announcing an enemy will be there in 2 weeks. Will you stay and fight or escape?
Task
Your task is analyzing how you need to lead your kingdom to victory and safety.
- What type of amor is useful during this time period?
- Who is going to create the weapons, and who will you supply it to?
- How will you handle the townspeople fear?
- Are you going to fight or escape? How?
- Do you have an alliance(s)?
- What essentials will you need for a few days for war?
- What major supply will you handout to the townspeople and the people in your castle?
- How will you communicate with your army, with fear or motivation?
- What are your strengths and skills as a King/Queen? (swordsman, herbalist, bookworm, etc.)
Process
You will be creating a poster. Whether you escape or not does not matter as long as you know what you need to prepare for the journey or fight. You must explain your strategy for either one as well as what you’ll need to bring with you. Here is the catch: it’s the medieval times, therefore you’ll have enemies in the castle who are waiting for the army to fight. If you choose to stay you still need the essentials and a plan for escape. Make sure the essentials you choose, or plan to go with, is from the time period. Also, be aware that the townspeople harvest their own food. (Blacksmiths create weapons). Your army consists of 1,000 people including the townspeople helping to fight. The other army ranges from 1,200 people. There are over 20 people in your castle waiting to rebel against you. You will be judged on the following criteria: armor, map and castle routes, food packed or disturbed, speech to townspeople, strength/skills, and weapons.
Step One: Research about Medieval Times, fighting, and strategy. The more you research, the better prepared you will be! Here are some websites to help you:

Step two: Outline a draft of the following mentioned above about your kingdom and the steps you are going to take for your safety or your townspeople safety. Gather information of how it will work and why you choose it. Find pictures to print to make your poster creative.
Step three: Transform your draft to an actual poster board. Make sure to include visual representations for each criteria that matches the ones used in Medieval Times.
