It is a process of enabling each individual to understand his potentials and interest  to develop them as well as possible and relate them to life goals and finally to reach a state of complete and matured self guidance as a desirable human element of the social order

-the facilitator should consider that pupils come from different bavkgrounds and should prepares learners for an independent productive adulthood and lifelong learning

-enabling students to be good decision makers especially those that concerns their individual choices
