Introduction
Capital punishment, also known as the death penalty, is the state-sactioned killing of a person as punishment for a crime. The sentence ordering that someone be punished in such a manner is known as a death sentence, and act of carrying out such a sentence is known as execution.
Historically, the death penalty was widely used for rape, particularly against black defendants with white victims. When the death penalty was reinstated in 1976, the Supreme Court left open the possibility of imposing the death penalty for offenses other than murder, such as rape or even armed robbery.
Task
For this task you will write an argumentative essay in which you will give your own opinion whether the death penalty should be used or not. Use Ms Word to write your essay.
Your essay should include the following:
-Cover page with relevant details (name, surname, your class, the submission date).
-Essay should have an interesting title which indicates what your essay is about.
-Assignment is reader-friendly and easy to follow.
-Page numbers.
-A minimum of two pages for the argumentative essay.
-Legible front-size and 1.5 line-spacing is used.
-Word count is indicated at the end of essay.

Argumentative Essay Instructions:
Write an argumentative essay in which you imagine a scenario whereby a victim was accused of a crime, and received capital punishment. You may choose which point of view to write the essay from.
Your choice are:
1. You write from the point of view of the accused criminal who received capital punishment for a crime you did not commit.
2. You are a detective/ friend who is investigating case of someone who is innocent, but received capital punishment. You uncover that the accused victim is innocent and does not deserve any punishment at all. Write your essay as a crime detective.
