The Literary Jigsaw

Introduction

When you woke up this morning, you knew something was off since the first moment. You felt weird, like something was different. And everything made sense when you looked at yourself in the mirror: you've suddenly grown up to be an adult! And that's not the only thing.

Since you were not sure about what happened, you looked for evidences which could tell you what happened. Then, you found in your wallett something incredible: a high school teacher's card! Along with the card, there's a small paper with a message on it, saying: IF YOU WANT TO BE BROUGHT BACK TO NORMAL, YOU MUST DO AS I SAY:

- GO TO THIS WEBSITE

- READ THE WEBPAGES THAT I LEFT FOR YOU

- ELABORATE A FOR AND AGAINST ESSAY WITH YOUR OPINIONS.

- PRESENT YOUR IDEAS TO YOUR STUDENTS.

And now you're here. There are some webpages about literary writers that (thank god) you know thanks to your English classes. You have to do a series of tasks, but these are too many! That will take years. But suddenly, your mobile phone vibrates. when you check it, you find out that your classmates have tio do the same thing! You feel more relieved, because you know the perfect recipe for success is cooperation!

Now, you have to join forces and be careful with this quest. In order to achieve your objectives, you have to organise yourself as a group and help each other with the texts, writings, and presentation. And who knows, maybe you'll have a helping hand...

Task

When you work as a group, you have to make clear what each one of you is going to do. Remember to be fair to your fellow classmates, since you may not have the same English level. And remember: a solid union is more powerful than everything you can imagine.

The tasks that you have to do are:

- LOOK FOR INFORMATION ABOUT THE AUTHOR YOU'RE GOING TO WORK WITH ON THE INTERNET.

- CHECK THE INFORMATION FOUND BY YOUR CLASSMATES AND MAKE SURE IT'S WHAT YOU NEED.

- ELABORATE A FOR AND AGAINST ESSAY ON THE BOOK BASED ON WHAT YOU FOUND, AND DON'T BE AFRAID TO EXPRESS YOUR FEELING, IT DOESN'T MATTER IF YOU DIDN'T LIKE IT!

- PREPARE A PRESENTATION IN WHICH YOU'RE GOING TO EXPOSE YOUR FINDINGS AND OPINIONS. REMEMBER THAT EACH ONE OF YOU MUST SPEAK EQUALLY.

- AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST: PREPARE A CARDBOARD TO SHOW TO YOUR CLASSMATES WHAT YOU DID. SELL IT. BE CREATIVE AND ENJOY YOURSELVES!

Here you will find some webpages with help about the authors and works you will study. Remember that you can find more things on the internet, especially in Wikipedia, or Spark Notes.
