You are going to do some digging to find out when and how the Dewey Decimal System started, why it works, how it works, as well as understanding the different sections that it provides. This Webquest is for grades 4 and 5 and can be done in a group of 3 students. Each group member must fulfill their tasks. This Webquest is meant to help students understand why books are organized the way they are and the way they are organized on shelves. This will also allow students to understand how to find non-fiction books on the shelves depending on their call numbers. Students will understand how to navigate the library system.
