1 - What is a biography?

Is true story of a person’s life that is written by someone else. A biography can be written about someone who is alive or dead.

2 - Fiction or Non-Fiction?

Biographies have elements of both fiction and non fiction. A biography tells the story of a person’s most important dates (birth), events(their 1st accomplishment), and other notable facts.

3 – Who are the characters?

The characters are real and usually have a great impact on society. This true story has all the elements of fiction: character, setting and plot. When you are reading a biography is like reading a story.

4 – What are the elements of a biography?

The story elements are similar to fiction with a beginning, middle and end. The setting is an actual place, and events truly happened. Biographies also includes descriptions, sequence of events, problems and solutions.

6 - What do we learn from a biography?

Early life of the character, personal details such as birthday, family members, childhood, school life, hobbies, career, achievements, success and other important dates and death.

To write a biography you must:

Follow these 3 steps

1 - Introduction - Early Life , Childhood, School, Life Experiences, Important Events

2 - Body - Contributions Important Events, Achievements, Success

3 - Conclusion - (When and Where) the person died or if it’s still alive. Tell us the most important thing for what he or she will be remembered

Process

How to write a biography

You are writing a story so use Simple Past Tense
Use the 3rd person – He or she (She was born on 31st July 1965)
Use the Present Perfect Tense for (since then) and (until now)
Use Connectives (Later, After, Then)
Use time expressions (In 2000, On 20th July, At the age of 6, When she was at school)
Conclusion (show your admiration)
