Introduction

° We all use the internet every day.  We use it to share fun times with friends.  We shop.  We can even send pictures to our granny!  However, not everything and every person that you see or meet online is safe.  In this webquest, you will learn about some of the dangers of the internet, as well as how to protect yourself.  By the time you are finished, you will be able to:

A.  Identify three dangers that you face when you are online.

B.  Identify five ways to protect yourself when you are online.

Task

° Your task for this webquest is to successfully and correctly complete the Internet Safety quiz linked here.  You must achieve at least an 80% on the quiz in order to be considered successful.  A score below 80% will require you to complete the webquest again!

- - Let's start with the basics.  What do you really need to know about being online?  Watch the video below to discover what the biggest danger is that you face as an online teenager.  WARNING, this video may shock you.

° The internet can be fun and useful.  However, just like in the real world, there are dangers that you must be careful to avoid.  Now that you have completed this webquest, you should know what three of those dangers are and five things you can do to protect yourself.  Surf safely!
