ABP:HOW TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF EDUCATION?

Introduction

Over the last lessons, we have discussed past and current problems in the education world and how they impacted the lives of many students especially during this health crisis. For this project I want you to think of your context and one of those students in public and private school, take into account their differences, privileges, and challenges they face during a school year. 

For this project, you must work in groups of 3 or 4, and work with a specific aspect of education you would like to focus on. Then, you have to propose a project or initiative to improve the quality of education with the following question in mind.

How would you improve the quality of education?

2. Think of one aspect of education you would like to improve and answer the following questions:

  • What aspect in education did you chose?
  • Why did you choose this aspect in particular? 
  • What data supports your decision?*
  • Who will be benefited from this?
  • Who needs to take action towards this?
  • Explain your proposal.

Process

3. Create a PPT presentation that includes:

  • 1.Cover: Names, school logo, research question, and an original name for your initiative.
  • 2.Goal:briefly present your initiative. This should be at least 2 paragraphs long.
  • 3.Introduction: why is it important to do something for this goal?
  • 4.Initiative (2-3 pages long): What is the name of your initiative? Who is this directed to? Who has to do this? How long will it take? What are the impacts of this initiative?
  • 5.Conclusion: Is it possible to do it? why? why not? in how long?

6.Your presentation needs to meet the following designing criteria:

  • at least 1 image per page.
  • The students are using one template from https://slidesgo.com/es/
  • There are no grammar or spelling mistakes that can cause difficulty when reading. You can check using https://app.grammarly.com/ , a good piece of writing has a score of over 70 pts.
  • The idea and content must be original. Plagiarism will be highly disapproved and evaluated with the minimum mark.

7. Your work must be submitted by May 12. Additional work may be asked to make sure you are using in-class time.

Evaluation

The following criteria will be evaluated. Rubric will be shown in class.

  • PPT: check the items to include inside the "Process" tab.
  • Deadline
  • Connection to the topic.
  • Use of language.

 

Conclusion

Your initiatives can be as concrete or as social as you want to as long as it is possible to do them. Any questions need to be ask and solved during class time.
