Introduction

You have embarked on an exciting course which is intended to transform you into the modern day teachers needed in our society. Even though the types of technology has evolved overtime, we can all admit that technology is with us for the long haul. In fact, with the explosion in its development over the last 15 years, our students and future students emerge from the womb seemingly with a device in hand. As such we need to be prepared to engage them effectively in the teaching and learning process. The space will provide you with a few ideas that you can add to your growing arsenal of methodologies to engage the 21 century learner.

Task

By the end of this Webquest, you should have all you need to complete your digital portfolio which becomes due in May. Your digital portfolio should contain:

  • a Website which is easy to read and navigate, with appropriate font types, colour, links, etc. 
  • Tools - podcast, webquest and blog, creatively designed and of a high professional standard. 
  • Reflection on the course and tools, clearly describing growth, achievements, accomplishments and a critique of the course and tools;
  • Your Philosophy on the ethical and appropriate use of technology, guidelines for managing a technology class and facilitating 21st century learner.

Phase 1 - Podcast

   Do your audio recording. You can use any device (phone, tablet, computer). Ensure that your recording is free from background noise and related to your content area. It can be    used as an introduction to your lesson, or at any other point during the lesson
