Introduction
This is created for a first grade sight word review. The students will each get a turn to play a review game by coming up to the board. The students will each get a turn to try to find, sound out and spell sight words with fly swatters.
Task
Students will review sight words by spelling, sounding out and saying. This activity will include taking turns, listening to directions and identifying sight words.
Process
The teacher will write sight words up on the board. Students will then be called up to the board, handed a fly swatter and as a teacher calls out a sight word, the students need to find the sight word that was called. The student who finds the sight word called will then say it, spell it and sound it out, then say it again. The student that found the sight word correctly will stay at the boards and another child will then come up to the board. This review will continue until each child has had their turn and all sight words were called.
Evaluation
As the teacher is calling out sight words, they will be able to monitor which student is searching for the correct words and which student is having a hard time. With this information learned, the teacher can then have more reviews to the specified words collected by each child.
