About me.
Hi everyone! My name is Megan Klosterman and I am an Elementary/Middle major with a specialization in social studies. I go to Frostburg State University and this is my senior year of college. I am from Frederick, Maryland where I have lived in the same house with my family since I was born. I have one older sister who recently got married, so we added a brother-in-law to the family. I have two cats, they both are boys and their names are Nike and Simba, Nike is 14 and Simba is 1. A couple of hobbies I have are going skiing, during the winter I love to grab a few friends and go to the slopes, another hobby I have is taking hikes during the summers and visiting new trails and beautiful places with a scenic view. A little about my past experiences with children and students is, during High School, I took two Child Development courses and got my 48-hour certificate. Secondly, I have nannied for a few families in the past 3 years. One of the families was a family of 5 from the ages 6 months- 9 years old. I usually spent time with them and made sure they were safe and having a good time, I would make them breakfast and lunch, and sometimes I would help their Mom with schoolwork because they were homeschooled. Another family was a family of 3 and it was during COVID-19 so I helped them with their online school while their parents were at work. I did this for about 4 months so I got to learn a lot about how teachers went about some of the online work. Lastly, I am really excited to get to be a part of this class. My goals are to help these students be the best students they can be, pick out these student's strengths and weaknesses, and I want to create a positive and welcoming environment in the classroom. I am hoping to build relationships with the students and gain the trust of students, parents, and other faculty members.
