Throughout the journey of this WebQuest, students will learn a few unmet needs in Child Welfare. This tool will allow them to have an idea or understanding when wanting to change a unmet need.
Introduction: Unmet Needs in Child Welfare
Child welfare is a continuum of services designed to ensure that children are safe and that families have the necessary support to care for their children successfully.
A continuum of services that were specifically created to ensure the safety of all children can be identified as, Child Welfare. This service presented to individuals also ensures that families have the opportunity to support and care for their children specifically.
In Child Welfare, you are presented with many obstacles and hardships. When working in the field, you are able to address and identify the unmet needs of children in the system. Some of these unmet needs could range from poverty, education, substance abuse, and etc. This tool will help you discover, evaluate, review and conclude an unmet need in child welfare.

Process
After identifying and evaluating your unmet needs, there are a few more task that you need to complete.
1. Reread each article and annotate important phrases, facts, and contributions toward your unmet need.

2. Once the first step is completed, take all of your notes and combine them into a idea/solution that will help benefit the children who experience the unmet needs. Presented below are a few bullets and ideas that could be an aid to help identify the child necessities:

- Put yourself in the shoes of a child who may have experienced a unmet need. Self reflect on your differences and how you want to offer a better solution to unmet needs.
3. After rereading each article, annotating your notes, identifying your solution, and self reflecting... it is to review your work.
- Consider each note presented and make sure they connect with your unmet need.
- Proof read your solution and reidentify the key points.
- Review your self reflection and continue to identify differences. ( Remember to put yourself in a child's shoe that may have experienced a unmet need)

You were able to identify unmet needs and create a solution that will help better the problem. Most importantly, you took the time and consideration to give back to the children in the system.
