Introduction
Greetings!
This module presents how technology can be effectively used to enhance teaching and learning across five subjects.
Task
English
In this video, Senior Lecturer Marc Lebane of the Centre for English and Additional Languages showcases how educational technology provides important tools to make teaching more effective. Technology provides digital repositories and web resources to equip learners with the skills they need when they face their lives ahead. Online platforms and various mobile devices can be integrated into educational materials to enhance teaching and learning.
To teach English, Twitter can be used to provide a quick and short feedback. Youtube can also be used where the learners can upload their videos, then review it for peer evaluation and self-evaluation.
Moodle is also used for their activities as part of learners' assessment.
Technology has changed the educational environment. As technology continues to grow, educators must use it to their advantage for the benefit of their learners.
Physical Education
In this video, Physical Education Teacher Lawrence Lim showcases how he uses mobile applications to motivate his students. Through technology, he encourages his learners to be more involved in learning. The app the learners use allow them to record their performances where they can check even the smallest details to make their outcomes better. One app provides the learners with landmark checkpoints, which provides the learners gratification upon finding them, essentially turning the lesson into a game to make learning active and fun.
Araling Panlipunan
The video explains how the McGraw-Hill Networks Social Studies Learning System improves teaching and learning. Through this learning system, learners are provided with digital readings, research, and resources. It also has a feature of an interactive board. It also has discussion boards where learners can communicate their views and ideas.
Learners in the video claim that through the learning system, they can focus better with learning.
The learning system also aids teachers in creating lesson plans.
Arts
In this video, an art class utilizes technology in education by taking photos of their artwork using their gadgets, then posting them online as a digital portfolio to share with the class. The learners can also track their progress and can receive and give feedback to their fellow learners. They can also gain inspiration from others, including Youtube for tutorials, as well as photos in Google Images. Technology also provides them with a new medium of art—digital art.
Music
In this video, a music class uses technology to create an interactive learning experience. The class uses a smartboard, a microphone, music games, etc. The teacher explains that technology keeps the learners interested in the lesson. It also helps them remember the lessons better and provides them with a wholesome learning experience.
Process
English

In an article written by Larry Ferlazzo in Education Week, English teachers enumerate the effective ways technology can be used to improve instruction and to develop the writing, speaking, listening, and reading skills of learners.
Evidently, teachers can use PowerPoint and Google Slides to present the lesson, adding in animations, images, and other elements to keep the attention of the learners.
Teachers can also utilize the videos on Youtube as a supplement to the lesson, such as searching for videos that narrate a legend, deliver a speech, or explains a difficult concept.
Teachers can also use websites to find resources to require or recommend in class, such as Goodreads for books and Rotten Tomatoes for films.
Teachers can also create quizzes using Google Forms, Nearpod, or Kahoot!
Aside from using technology to help deliver a lesson, teachers can also have learners use technology for various activities to keep them entertained while developing their skills.
Learners can now access different books and articles through online libraries, such as EPIC and ReadWorks. Certain apps and websites, such as Flipgrid, StoryJumper, and Poplet, can also enhance the skills learners need for the class.
Technology also provides learners opportunities to share their learning and to show off their work. Aside from creating presentations using PowerPoint or Google Slides inside the classroom, learners can also upload these in SlideShare. They can also use Prezi to create presentations.
Blogging websites can also be utilized for writing tasks such as book reviews, essays, poetry, etc. Once they post their written works, learners can comment on one another work's.
Learners can also use Google Docs when they have to perform a writing task with a partner or a group.
Instead of sticking with physical books and using a pure lecture-discussion method, teachers can utilize technology in numerous ways to keep up with the demands of the 21st century.
Physical Education

According to an article written by Daniela McVicker in Learning Hub, even in a class that mostly requires engaging in physical activities, technology can still play a role in further enhancing teaching and learning.
Teachers can also utilize numerous phone apps to track the learners' movements. Such apps include Fitnessmeter and Ubersense. By using these apps, teachers and learners can measure physical elements, like speed; can count repetitive exercises, like push-ups; and can record themselves playing a sport so they can review it in slow motion to determine their form. There are also numerous of apps that encourage and track daily exercise.
Teachers can also use videos, such as the ones on Youtube, or create one themselves. These videos can be used for demonstrations or motivation, among other things.
Video games can also be used in Physical Education classes too, as there have been a growing number of sports games that simulate an actual sport, requiring the learners to move. An example is Just Dance where the player has to follow the dance steps shown. There are numerous videos of Just Dance on Youtube to follow.
Teachers can also use some apps to create assessments, like Google Forms.
Technology has continued to develop throughout the years and with its development, it has aided many in the field of education, even teachers and learners in a class that mostly deals with physical activities.
Araling Panlipunan

Curriculum Specialist Pam Renfrow explains in an article in Britannica Learn how digital resources in effectively improve teaching Social Studies, or Araling Panlipunan.
Teachers and learners can use digital annotation for their digital readings, making reading much more active.
Technology also allows primary sources to come alive through images, videos, and virtual tours of museums.
Technology in Araling Panlipunan can also be used for collaboration among learners, like in other classes. Through the use of Google Drive, the teacher can easily share digital files to the learners and learners can directly highlight and add notes to the readings, which other learners can view. Google Docs and Google Slides also allow learners to do the same.
Furthermore, like in other classes, technology can also be used in Araling Panlipunan to present the lesson with audiovisual media to keep the attention of the learners.
Although a great part of Araling Panlipunan comprises of learning history, the classroom does not have to stay in the past. It can however witness the past as much as 21st century technology allows it to.
Arts
According to Wynita Harmon in an article in the Art of Education, technology has grown to be an integral part of education, even in Art classroom. By using technology, it not only helps Art teachers foster the 21st century skills of learns, but it also increases fun and excitement.
One way technology enhances the Art classroom is by providing learners with a new medium to create art. Several apps allow learners to not only create digital art, but also allow them to manipulate traditional art that they have created. Some of these apps include PicsArt, Doodle Art, and Aviary. Some apps and websites have also turned creating art into a game, such as Skribblio. Teachers can use these games to teach learners how to draw random items quickly while others would guess what's being drawn.
Some apps also provide teachers and learners ways to easily track progress. These apps include Creatubbles, SeeSaw, and Artsonio to compile learners' works in a digital portfolios. Blogging websites can also be used as digital portfolios, such as WordPress, Tumblr, or Google Sites.
Technology also allows virtual tours of art museums, providing learners the opportunity to witness valuable works of art by famous artists throughout history without traveling for miles and miles.
As with the same case in other classes, technology can be used to create assessments, such as with the use of Google Forms, Quizizz, and Kahoot, and can also be used to create presentations — such as with Google Slides. Prezi, and PowerPoint.
As technology continues to grow, it has provided several ways on how to aid teachers and learners in the classroom, even in one that involves a lot of creative expression.
Music

According to Robert Stahly of the Colorado State University, using technology in music allows "a more efficient instruction of basic music fundamentals through the use of practice and drill type scenarios."
Technology is no stranger to the field of music as it has been a major influence in the field for centuries as it is used to compose and record, thus using it in music education can be of great use in aiding instruction and learning.
Through the use of technology, learners can record their performances, then review them together with the teacher to identify strengths and weaknesses.
Technology also allows learners to access music sheets easier, as well as research articles and performances of great musicians.
Teachers can also use applications, such as Note Recognizer with pitch recognition to teach the learners how to recognize different notes. Some websites also provide exercises and supplementary lessons that can be utilized in the classroom as aid. One example is musictheory.net.
Similar to other classes, technology can also be used create assessments and presentations for the benefit of the learners.
Integrating technology in the Music classroom would not be too difficult because technology has always played a huge role in producing music.

Conclusion
With the rise of technology over the years, one must utilize it for tasks to not only make them easier, but to further enhance the experience. This can be applied to various fields, including education.
Educational technology is not limited to just one subject. It can be utilized to at least five subjects, as shown in this module. Technology can be used across different subjects for the same purposes — to allow collaboration among learners, to deliver a lesson in an eye-catching and interactive manner, to create online assessments, and to allow further research and reading on a certain topic.
Still, some apps are unique to one or two subjects. In English, dictionary websites and phone apps, as well as thesaurus websites and phone apps, can be used to look up definitions of words for vocabulary exercises. In Physical Education and in Music, technology can be used to record the performance of the learner and to review it to correct mistakes or for assessments. In Araling Panlipunan and in Arts, technology can be used to take virtual tours of museums so learners can witness artifacts without having to travel several miles or pay expensive fees. In Arts alone, technology provides a new medium for creating art. In both Arts and Music, learners can share their work online for peer review.
No matter for what purpose, technology remains to be a vital tool in the classroom to enhance teaching and learning for the benefit of the learners. Depending on the app and gadget used, technology can provide varying contributions in enhancing instruction to help the learners not only grasp the lesson well, but to genuinely enjoy the process of learning.
