Introduction

This webquest was designed to provide some particular idioms that are used in English but they often used in informal use and therefore most of the students are not familiar with them, I hope it is an interesting work that can attract your attention.

Have you ever realized the importance of knowing some idiomatic expression in English?

 

Today you will gain an insight on what these English idioms 

 

This webquest allows the students to learn about the educational idioms in English and by this way they can select and decide which idiom is useful for them.

At the end of this work , you'll understand which idioms are more suitable in your point of view and what is more, by thinking and analyzing the most efficient ones for you , you will unconsciously acquire some of them.

 

 

Process

You are going to choose which one is better for you and you can discuss and comment about them as a group or individually 

 Step 1 Idiom #1 : 

  Bookworm        

- someone who reads a lot

My sister is a bookworm and is always reading a book. 

 

 Step 2 Idiom #2 : 

  Brainstorm (something)  

- to try to develop an idea or think of new ideas

The students got into groups to brainstorm ideas for the school play. 

 

 Step 3 Idiom #3 : 

  Eager beaver      

- someone who works very hard and is very enthusiastic

The young girl is an eager beaver and always comes to class before the other students. 

 

 Step 4 Idiom #4 : 

  Hit the books 

- to begin to study hard

After relaxing all weekend I hit the books on Sunday evening. 

 

 Step 5 Idiom #5 :

   Pass with flying colors  

- to pass something easily and with a high score

I was able to pass the science test with flying colors.

Bookworm Sounds bad can be good for persons who like to read great to describe book lovers .  
BrainStorm Not necessary it must be nice when it is used in a good context exactly an appropriate idiom    
Eager Braver not a good definition  may be useful  it sounds harmonious     
Hit the Books sounds violent it sounds in the way that reminds studying perfect definition for defining studying hard !    
Pass with flying colors should be more formal it's satisfactory with success it's fantastic to define success in this way !
