Introduction
Battery is the main source of the electricity of an automobile. Automotive battery consist of 34% sulfuric acid and 66% water which is called electrolyte. It has also different parts. (See the image below) And there are two type of battery the Conventional Battery which has flooded electrolyte and is very accessible. These batteries have to be carefully and periodically maintained. You will need to add distilled water from time to time to prevent the battery from sulfating. Water loss is a normal characteristic of this type of battery because of the high temperature inside, and the process of electrolysis and evaporation. This means the fluid level of the battery needs to be checked on a regular basis. And the other on is the Maintenance Free Battery which should should never be topped up, therefore there are no filler caps on top. The filler cap is replaced by an over-pressure valve that is normally closed. Any gas that forms ends up being recombined in the cell as water. This way there is always sufficient electrolyte in the battery.
Task
Matching Type
Identify the tools or devices used in checking the voltage of a batter, its charge and meaning.
1. HYDROMETER
2. MULTI-METER TESTER/MULTI TESTER
3. BATTERY LOAD TESTER
4. An instrument used to determine specific gravity. It operates based on the Archimedes principle that a solid body displaces its own weight within a liquid in which it floats.
5. Also known as a volt/ohm meter or VOM, is an electronic measuring instrument that combines several measurement functions in one unit.
6. It work by applying load and monitoring the voltage and current of the battery.
A. B.
C.
Lastly perform how to test and check battery voltage and charge by using the following tools or devices. (Multi meter, Battery Load Tester, and Hydrometer.)
Process
Before doing the actual activity in Servicing Automotive Battery the learners must observe the following steps:
1. Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) before doing the task.
2. The battery must be disconnected to any connections or circuit.
3. Place the battery in a good place or leveled place.
4. Use hydrometer to test the specific gravity of the electrolyte and record its reading of every cell.
5. Use Multi meter and Battery load tester to identify the current voltage of the battery.

Conclusion
At the end of the lesson/web quest it is expected that the learners know what are the different types of automotive batteries. And they can use some devices or tools that can be used in measuring battery voltage's charge. Also they are expected to identify what the tools or devices they are using in testing and checking battery's voltage and use it accurately.
