Introduction
- Sara and Jessie are best friends. Sara lives in the community of Clarkes town St. Ann, Sara is afraid of snails and toads. As a result of her backyard being infested by her biggest fears she is unable to play in the evenings with Jessie when she gets home from school, especially after it rains. Jessie tells Sara that if she puts salt on the frogs and snails they will all die and she will be free to play, Jessie goes on to tell Sara that her mother told her that the salt kills the frogs and toads by osmosis. Sara is now afraid to consume salt as she thinks she might also die from osmosis. Help Sara to understand the concept of osmosis, to see whether or not she is in danger if she consumes salt.
