Analogy

Introduction

• Analogy is an inference that two things agrees at some point for a specific characteristic or type. In particular, it highlights the ways in which two or more things are alike.

• Analogy can help you to describe a particular subject and infer its similar characteristic.

Task

  Examples:

      • Cat: Animal    Rose: Flower

      • Sun is to day as moon is to night.

   You are to look for other examples of analogy. After doing so, you will be creating your own analogies in a paragraph focusing on your family members.This will test your understanding and application of the topic. 

Process

To complete this particular task, you are to do the following: 

• Look for other examples of analogy.

• Understand how analogy is used in a sentence particularly in describing and comparing characteristics of things.

• Apply these learning by constructing your own paragraph focusing on your family members. 

Evaluation

The accomplished task will be graded according to the following criteria:

Organization: 25%

Use of Analogy: 45%

Creativity: 30%

Total: 100%

 

Conclusion

After learning how analogy works and apply it in writing your own paragraph, you can create more creative narratives of description for comparing things in a much easier and fun ways.
