The Enchantress of Numbers : Ada Lovelace

Introduction

- This lesson is about the first computer programmer Ada Lovelace (10 December 1815 - 27 November 1852). Students will learn about Ada Lovelace, her life, and her accomplishments. There will be brief information about computer programming and its' history.

 

- This lesson is aimed at 15-16 years old Ss in high school CLIL classroom and their level is intermediate.

- Lesson's aim is to practice listening and speaking skills while using past tense and irregular verbs.

 

 

Task

- Watch the video carefully and take notes of important information such as date of birth, accomplishments, etc.

- With a partner, Ss gathers information about the topic from provided links.

- Each pair writes a paragraph about the subject and then they start creating their posters around that paragraph using past tense and irregular verbs.

- Each pair has 35 minutes to complete the task and then present it to the class.

- Each presentation takes about 15 minutes.
