Introduction

You have learned a very brief overview of Henry VIII and his six wives. He was the King of England between 21 April 1509 and 28 January 1547.  He is famous for having married six times and completely Englishized England by separating it from the Roman Catholic Church and establishing the Anglican Church. In this lesson, You learned a very brief overview of Henry VIII and his six wives. Now, we will look at the first two wives and examine what important events were going on during their reign. You will be examining: Catherine of Aragon, the religious reformation, and the period of Henry's second wife, Anne Boleyn.

Since the Tudor era has shaped England politically, religiously and historically, it is essential that learners study about this period.
