Which is Which

Introduction

Welcome to SOLAR SYSTEM.
Do you have any idea what is SOLAR SYSMTEM?
Solar system  is  the collection of eight planets and their moons in orbit around the sun, together with smaller bodies in the form of asteroids, meteoroids, and comets. The planets of the solar system are (in order of distance from the sun) Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune.

Task

GUESS THE PLANET!!!

_____ 1. Zipping around the sun in only 88 days, Mercury is the closest planet to the sun, and it's also the smallest, only a little bit larger than Earth's moon.

____ 2. he second planet from the sun, it is Earth's twin in size. Radar images beneath its atmosphere reveal that its surface has various mountains and volcanoes.

____ 3. The third planet from the sun, it  is a water world, with two-thirds of the planet covered by ocean. It's the only world known to harbor life. Earth's atmosphere is rich in nitrogen and oxygen.

_____ 4. The fourth planet from the sun, and it's a cold, desert-like place covered in dust. This dust is made of iron oxides, giving the planet its iconic red hue.

_____5. The fifth planet from the sun, It is a giant gas world that is the most massive planet in our solar system — more than twice as massive as all the other planets combined

_____6. The sixth planet from the sun, known most for its rings. When polymath Galileo Galile  first studied Saturn in the early 1600s, he thought it was an object with three parts: a planet and two large moons on either side.

_____ 7. The seventh planet from the sun, it is an oddball. It has clouds made of hydrogen sulfide, the same chemical that makes rotten eggs smell so foul. It rotates from east to west like Venus.

_____ 8.  The eighth planet from the sun, about the size of Uranus and is known for supersonic strong winds. Neptune is far out and cold.

_____ 9. Once the ninth planet from the sun, it is unlike other planets in many respects.

Conclusion

Once you fulfill all the task in this webquest, each and everyone must understand or define what is the Solar system.

Now you have completed this WebQuest you can start to think  about how you will be using the information you gathered during your mission into space. You can choose to do one of the following tasks:

1. to design and present to the class, a PowerPoint presentation on one element of our Solar System or an element of space travel using a variety of different media.

OR

2. To design a poster or other display about a element of our Solar System or space travel and present it to the class, using a variety of different media.

OR

3. To design a creative way of presenting the information you found and present it to the class, using a variety of different media. (some hints- you may want to do a solar system model, or even make a cake. The possibilities are endless. Be creative!)
