Introduction
FROM THE BEGINNING OF TIME....
there have be many civilizations, that have led us to where we are today.
All over the world, there are people that are different than ourselves. What were the people like thousands of years ago?
Did they speak a language that is still spoken today? What did they wear? What kind of food did they eat? Did they build houses, drive cars, have toilets?
Task
You and your group will sign up for an ancient civilization to "join" for the duration of the unit. It will be your goal to create presentation of your choice (PowerPoint, Google Slide, Video Submission, etc.) to help the class understand what it was like to live in that time and place. You will include all the important details of life as an Ancient ___________. There will be videos that you can watch to gather information on your civilization, but you will also be tasked to use some outside resources as well. Things that should be included in your presentation -
As an Ancient _______ -
- how did you dress?
- how did you speak?
- what did you eat?
- where did you live?
- what was important to your civilization?
- what resources did you have?
- what are some fun facts about you?
- what religion was most prevalent?
- who was in charge?
Process
Step 1 -
Please review the video on the Introduction tab with your group.
Step 2 -
As a group, decide what Ancient Civilization you would like to join for this unit.
Step 3 -
Watch the provided video for your Civilization page
Step 4 -
Complete the graphic organizer as a group, making sure that you are gathering all of the information needed for complete credit on this assignment. If there are items that you can not find within your civilization's video, please use Google to search for "good" sources!
Step 5 -
Get creative! Now it is time for your group to decide what type of presentation you would like to create! Once you have decided how you think you would like to create this world view for the class, please STOP - and get teacher approval before moving forward.
Step 6 -
Work together to complete your presentation. It is OK if this part takes some time! It should! You are recreating a whole civilization! Take your time, show your pride in the civilization!
Step 7 -
When it is all done and ready to share, we want to know all about it! You will present your civilization to the class!

This lessons is culturally important to see that there are all different ways that a civilization can be set-up, and that has been true since the beginning of civilizations. This lesson, I would hope to add some real-world connections to within the presentation phase, by asking the presenting group and their classmates to try to make connections to how the world is today.
