Introduction
The rainforest is home to the most unique variety of plant and animal life on the planet. More than half of all plant and animal species call the rainforest their home.
A development company wants to cut part of the rainforest down and use the land to build housing complexes in order to make money off of a new and one of a kind vacation experience. Your class has been hired to be the spokesperson for the protection of the rainforests.
Your job is to convince the company to consider the dangers of development and the threat it puts on the rainforests. To help your class achieve this goal you will each choose one animal that lives in the rainforest. Describe in detail the life of your animal and the role it plays in the rainforest community.
Task
In order to convince the company not to cut down the rainforest, you will create a powerpoint presentation that addresses these essential questions:
1. Describe what your animal looks like.
2. What time of day is your animal active?
3. Where does your animal live within the rainforest?
4. What does your animal eat?
5. How does your animal contribute to the rainforest ecosystem?
6. What human activities threaten the life of your animal?
Process
Decide which animal you will be researching then answer all of the essential questions about your animal.
Each essential question should be on a separate slide in your powerpoint presentation.
Be sure to include pictures and make your presentation engaging.
Your presentation should include at least one audio clip AND two videos/pictures of the animal you have chosen.
