Facts about Kansas

Introduction

This WebQuest will be used to learn about the great things in Kansas. There are several facts about Kansas that many of us do not know and that is the whole point of doing this! You will guide yourself around to look for interesting facts that make Kansas unique.

Task

You will be using the links to find 3 facts that explain why Kansas is the way that it is. Why is it named Kansas? Why is Kansas so flat? What makes Kansas, Kansas? You will then use these 2 facts you find to create a poster about Kansas.

Process

Step 1) click through the links in the resources and find 3 facts that interest you about Kansas and make you think that this is why Kansas is the way that it is. You will have 15 minutes to find your 3 facts.

Step 2) Grab a poster board and 5 markers of your choice and create your poster about Kansas with the facts on it. You will have 10 minutes to prepare your poster before presenting.

Step 3) Once done with the poster, place the poster at the front of the room in one pile, face down. We will go in order of these posters when presenting.

Step 4) You will give a brief 3-5-minute presentation over your poster. You will quickly tell us why you picked those 3 facts and why you thought the made Kansas the way that it is.

REMEMBER: your facts are not just random facts about Kansas. Try to pick them based off their importance to this making and history of Kansas.
