Task
As we explore the Philippines, you will need to write down the relevant information from the voyage. Your task is to create a mosaic poster in a scrapbook and label the three major archipelago of the Philippines and research about the origin of the different of at least 10 ethnic groups, at least 10 dialects in the Philippines, and the regions/cities of the Philippines.

As we start to explore the Philippine, let us first know the short story or the word, Philippines. In 1543, Spanish explorer Ruy López de Villalobos named the archipelago Las Islas Filipinas in honor of Philip II of Spain. In 1565, the first Hispanic settlement in the archipelago was established, and the Philippines became part of the Spanish Empire for more than 300 years. The word Philippines was to honor Philip II of Spain.
Moving on, the Philippines consists of 7,107 island, the major archipelago of the Philippines was divided by waters and these are: Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
There are more than 175 ethnic groups in the Phillippines more than 175 dialects that Filipinos have. Although there are more than 175 dialects, the very common dialects are; Bikol, Cebuano, Hiligaynon, Ilocano, Kapampangan, Pangasinan, Tagalog, and Waray. The language being taught all over the Philippines is Tagalog and English. The majority of the people in the Philippines are of Austronesian descent who migrated from Taiwan during the Iron Age. They are called ethnic Filipinos. The largest Filipino ethnic groups include the Tagalog, Cebuano, Ilocano, Bicolano, Kapampangan, Maranao, Maguindanao, and Tausug.
