Introduction
I will be discussing the roles of the teacher and the roles of the resource teacher both of these people interact with EA’s on a daily bases. Teachers work with EA’s in the classroom and use them to help with the class. Resource teachers supervise EA’s and put them in their different roles throughout the school. They make sure the students under then are getting the proper support from the Teacher and the EA.
Task
The resource teacher has many roles in the school setting. They work mainly with students with academic, behavioral or social needs. They play a key part in getting the students the help they need by the teachers and EA’s that work with them.
The teacher has the roll of teaching the students in their classroom. Keeping the classroom in line and making sure the students get the information that is required from the curriculum.
Process
Resource teachers are responsible for arranging meetings with parents and professionals to assess what the child needs. They are the main contact to parents of the students under their responsibility. Resource teachers are responsible to create IEP’s for their students. They direct the EA’s to what classes and students they will be working with. They arrange proper training for EA’s working with students needing lifts, stretching, or other things.
They are in charge of the EA in their class they are responsible for giving the EA the tasks they are supposed to do. They tell the EA what they want done and how they want them to do it. Teachers and EA’s should have good communication and a positive relationship between them.
Conclusion
In conclusion, EA's need to have a positive and professional relationship with both the teachers they are in classes with and the resource teacher that is supervising them. They need to communicate with both on a regular basis. EA's need to provide information about the student's work and how things are going. If an EA doesn't have good communication with the teacher or resource teacher it will be hard to properly work as a team.
