Task
For this task you will need to:
Conduct some research into the technology that become popular in Australia after the War between 1945-1950.
You will need to look at where it was invented, how it found its way to Australia, why it became popular, how it is linked to popular culture and how it changed the lives of Australian people. All of this information will help you when constructing your advertisement.
Your job is to make sure your advertisement is accurate and appeals to the people from the post-war era. Good luck on your journey to the era enjoyed by your grandparents.

Process
STEP 1: (5-10 minutes)
Using the internet research technology that became popular in Australia between 1945-1950. In your books make a list of all the ones you find, remember technology can include but is not limited to: cars, home appliances, cooking equipment and office tools.
STEP 2: (15-20 minutes)
Look at the following sources and complete T.O.M.A.C.P.R.U. analysis in your books. For this task you can work in small groups to spilt the sources between members. (while you are completing this take notice of the key features that these advertisements share).

Once you have completed this research some more advertisements from the era on google. Make note of the types of marketing they used and how they sold products (for example the hills hoist clothesline was marketed for women).
STEP 3: (20-25 minutes)
Now that you understand more about the advertising nature of the post-war period in Australia. Go back to your original list of technologies that became popular during 1945-1950, choose one and create your very own magazine advertisement. Your advertisement should aim to appeal to the post-war generation of Australian's and should include:
- Product name
- Price
- Features
- Where it can be purchased
- Benefits of owning it
- An illustration
- The origin of the product (is it Australian owned or was it made in America)
You can either draw this in your book or create it using google docs or slides.
You can also work in small groups to complete this.
Once you have completed it notify me so I can sign off and send it through to publishing.
