My Graphic Organizer

Introduction

Reading, listening, writing, speaking, and even viewing require us to organize our thoughts for better understanding and easy recalling of important details or ideas. One way of doing this is by using textual aids or graphic organizers.

In this WebQuest, you will review the different types of textual aids or graphic organizers used for different purposes. Then, you will decide which graphic organizer will best suit the ideas you would gather from the speech you are going to listen to.

Task

Your task is to watch/listen attentively to Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong's speech on the COVID-19 situation in Singapore on 12 March 2020. As you listen/watch, you should take down notes. Sum up the key ideas of his speech by using a graphic organizer. Make sure you use the right textual aid for your ideas.

Process

 1. Watch this video about graphic organizers.

 3. You can watch the speech again if you need to.

4. Decide which graphic organizer you will use to summarize the ideas you have gathered. Do it on a sheet of bond paper. You can be artistic and creative too. For example, instead of drawing a circle, you can draw what the coronavirus looks like. Explore your ideas and creativity!

5. Once you are done, take a photo of your work and upload it via your teacher's FB page or the Google classroom.

Your output will be evaluated and graded based on the following criteria:
