Introduction
THE UNDERARM SERVE

This is a type of serve used in volleyball where the player serving the ball, holds the ball about waist high where they then slightly toss it up and hit the ball with their opposite closed fist using an underhand motion. The top of their closed fist hits the bottom of the volleyball.

Describe the position of the body when executing the underarm serve in volleyball

Demonstrate the underarm serve with 70% accuracy with little or no difficulty. With and without ball.

Rules in Volleyball
The Serve
- The serve must be taken behind the end line
- You can either use under arm serve or overhead serve
- Your Opponents must be able to see the ball before you serve
- The serve must be received with an underarm serve
- First game serve is determined by a toss of a coin.
- A team that loses the game serves first in the next game.
The Underarm Serve
The serve is executed by using an underhand swing to hit the ball over the net
- Stand facing the net with your non-hitting foot and hand forward
- Hold the ball at waist height with your non-hitting hand
- Put weight on your back foot
- Swing hitting hand backwards
- Toss the ball (up)
- Swing hitting hand forward
- Transfer weight of your front foot hit the ball with the heel of your palm
- Follow through the direction of the serve
