Introduction
What is Passing?

There are three main types of passes in the game of volleyball: forearm pass, set and spike. Each team is allowed a maximum of three hits before they have to send the ball back over the net. A team will typically try to fulfill the passing strategy of bump-set-spike, although a block is an additional move in volleyball also used alongside the others as a defensive mechanism.
Task
At the end of todays lesson, you will be able to:
Cognitive
- Name at least two types of passing in volleyball
- Describe the position of the body when executing the forearm pass in volleyball
- Describe the arm action in executing the forearm pass in volleyball
Psychomotor
- Demonstrate the forearm passing using with correct technique with at least 70% accuracy.
- Follow through with the hands after executing the forearm pass.
Process
For today lesson you may need a volleyball or a suitable ball and even if you dont have a ball at home dont worry you can practice with an imaginary ball.
Task 1
VOLLEYBALL
Lets start today's lesson by playing a game. Use thirty seconds to make as many words as possible from the world VOLLEYBALL
Task 2
Okay so lets get started. Today we will be looking at the forearm or bump pass in volleyball. Watch this video and write the steps in doing the technique.
Task 3
Using a ball or your imagination practice doing the skill above for at least 10 minutes.
Evaluation
Using the information just learnt. Create two drills/ activities that can be used to practice the skill.
Example . 1 vs 1 (DO NOT USE THIS EXAMPLE)
Player 1 tosses the ball to player who will pass the ball using the correct technique. After five tries the thrower changes.
