Life in London during the end of WW2 and post-WW2

Introduction

Introduction:

World War II (WW2), or the Second World War took place from 1 Sep 1939 – 2 Sep 1945. During those six years, people in London suffered frequent hardships. Bombing destroyed 100,000 homes and damaged 1 million houses. 80,000 Londoners were killed, with 10% being children.

At the end of the war, many celebrated in the streets, however a lot of the city had to be rebuilt. This led to planners such as Patrick Abercrombie proposed to rebuild with a balance between housing, industrial development and open spaces.
