I,m a Good Citizen

Introduction

The teacher enters the class, good day class today we are going to continue our discussion one how can they be a good citizen. 

NB  (the teacher previously ask for two volunteers) 

The students will randomly list ways to be a good citizen. 

The teacher will ask how ca you be a good digital citizen?

The teacher will ask how can a digital citizen communicate digitally?

The teacher will call the volunteers/ group leaders and give the their instructions, and randomly choose A or B 

Definition: digital communication is communication using technology.

 

 

Task

The leaders will read their task aloud to group members then proceed to accomplish it.

A) Each group member are to go home and tell their  parents that your teacher forgot to mention the previous day that you are to bring a photo of yourself to class today.

B) Each group member are to visit  the cafeteria and ask what’s on the menu, visit each class including yours give them the menu and collect their order, carry the orders back to the cafeteria then return to class.                                    

This is to be done in five minutes without using verbal communication, when the time is up you stop and return to class.

Process

Upon completing group task teacher will ask group leaders to report:

  • Did you get the task completed?
  • Did you get sufficient time?
  • What could of been done differently?
  • How can we use digital communication in this activity? 
  • What digital method can we use?   

    Teacher will say lets try to get these task done using digital communication

Teacher will say today we are going to use emails and "whatsapp" 

(group leaders randomly choose between emails and "whatsapp" 

Instructions: group A   use the class emails and send the previous message tho the relevant parents asking for a photo

By sending an email saves time.

  Group B create a "whatsapp: group with the cafeteria and all class teacher. 

By using creating a whatsapp" group one message will be sent to the cafe acquiring the menu this will be sent to the class teachers who will display it on the digital notice board. The students will give the orders to the teacher who will send the results via "whatsapp" the administrator will then send the orders to the cafeteria.

Evaluation

Group Assignment: 

 

  •  each member go online and find a picture of an animal and a fruit
  • email that picture to the group members
  • ensure everyone has a different picture
  • create two collages using the pictures 
  • email collage to group members, the teacher and class email and "whatsapp"

 

 

 

 

 

Conclusion

The teacher will ask the students to recap.

  • what is digital communication
  • list other ways we can communicate digitally 
  • how was it when you had to communicate non-verbally
