This WebQuest is designed for a Third Grade Language Arts curriculum. The students will work in cooperative groups, learn about the pie making process, design their own package and flavor, and lastly will be making their own homemade pie.

There's nothing like a warm, tasty pie to make life long friends! But what can you do when you do not have any pie? Don't worry, you can make your own homemade pie!
Task
Task
You will be researching and creating a flow chart of "How Pies Are Made." Then, you will create a flavor and design the package for your new pie. Finally, you will make homemade pies.

2. Listen to each group members' ideas of a pie flavor and cooperatively decide on one flavor. Please visit website for ideas of flavors: https://www.groupon.com/articles/different-types-of-pie-flavors
3. Individually, you must write the name of your group's flavor, completing a description of the flavor, and completing a description of the package on a piece of paper.
4. As a group you must "Advertise Your New Pie Flavor." Your group will design a poster explaining your flavor and package description. The poster should have a title, a short description, be very colorful, and have your names on it.
5. Finally, each group will present their poster to the class.
Now that you are done creating your own pie flavor and package, you will research how to make Homemade Pie.
1. Go to this website (https://www.thespruceeats.com/easy-apple-pie-recipe-for-kids-2097625), read Easy Apple Pie for Kids.
2. When everyone has read the article, your group will make APPLE PIE!!
3. Go to your teacher and he/she will help you measure out the ingredients and pour them into the bowl.
4. Once your group has all the ingredients in the bowl, begin to stir until all ingredients are mixed in well and pour into crust pan.
5. When pie mix is in the crust pan, bring it to the teacher.
6. The teacher will put the pie into the oven.
7. The pie will bake for 30 minutes.
8. Once pie is done baking, the teacher will take the pie out to cool.
9. Finally, go ahead and eat your treat!!!

Teacher Introduction
This WebQuest is designed for a Third Grade Language Arts curriculum. The students will work in cooperative groups, learn about the pie making process, design their own package and flavor, and lastly will be making their own homemade pie.
Students will learn about how to make pie and will create a new flavor and the package. The time frame I allowed for this activity was one week, depending on how much time you have to work on the WebQuest.
The students will be studying "How To Make Pie" and will complete a chart of the pie making process. They will also be choosing their own flavor and creating their own package. Each group will present their information on a poster board, as a part of their evaluation
The students need no prior knowledge of pie making to complete this WebQuest. This WebQuest is designed from third grade standards in Language Arts.
