- What are nouns?
A noun is a part of speech that identifies a person, place, thing, or idea. They are important to communication, whether orally or written.
Nouns are naming words that are important to spoken and written language. Everything we can talk about is represented by a word that name sit that naming word is called a noun. Examples of Nouns
- People: soldier, Alan, cousin, lawyer
- Animals: dog, rat, shark, pig
- Places: house, London, factory, shelter
- Things: table, London Bridge, chisel, bag, month, inch, cooking
- Ideas: confusion, kindness, faith, joy
