My Name is Misty Glisson. I am a senior at Kentucky State university. I am currently doing my observation hours at Second Street Elementary. My degree is in Elementary education. I Plan on teaching at Engelhard Elementary School in Louisville in 2020.
Task
Hello Students!
Today we are going back in time to the cave man days! When you come back, your teacher will give you a sweet treat! First grab a partner!
To build the time machine you must answer these questions together and give them to your teacher.
What does it mean to trade?
What are some things we can trade?
To enter the time machine, you must watch this videos.
Welcome back to 2019! Now go ask your teacher for your treat. Each of you will get a bag with several pieces of candy. Trade the candy you don’t like for candy you do like. You can also trade multiple candies for one candy. If they don’t want to trade for a candy, you can trade a service such as sharpening all their pencils or reading them a story. Record your trades.
Process
Now draw an example of a good you would want on a piece of paper really big! Then draw a picture of a service you would want on a different piece of paper. Write what they are and call the teacher over when you are done to make sure you have done it right. Do not use any examples from the video. Once you are done drawing, come the carpet with your other classmates. Pretend your pictures are real items and trade them for something else.
Evaluation
Students will be evaluated on their drawings of goods and services.
Conclusion
Students will be able to differentiate between goods and services. They will also understand that trading for goods is another form of payment.
